Why Travel To Japan? And 10 Reasons

Why Travel To Japan?  And 10 Reasons

I'm from Australia and recently went to Japan for a holiday (Update: I'm actually living in Japan now ... Check out my new 3 reasons to go to Japan list!). In terms of tradition, we borrow from somewhere else, there is nothing more than 250 years old in terms of historical architecture. Traveling to Japan was an opportunity to visit a country that is most pressed into the traditions and cultures of their own country. This is a challenging and rewarding holiday here. So much so that I now plan to go back to live.

There are many reasons to visit Japan. Here are my ten reasons why you should travel to Japan.
Why Travel To Japan? And 10 Reasons

1. City, Night Lights and Shopping.

Go to Japan and see Shibuya / Tokyo shopping at night
The main shopping center in Shibuya, Tokyo, near Shibuya 109.

Out of my first 10 reasons to go to Japan, it's really hard to justify on camera. But shopping here is a bit different, Shibuya 109 is just a teen drugstore shopping center. And Akihabara in Tokyo is fully known for its electronics and games.

2. The festival

Although I list only one example of a festival in this list of 10 reasons to visit Japan, there are many things in Japan and they are very unique. From the more ancient/traditional festivals with the snow and ice festivals and priests and shrines in Sapporo to the north, Japan loves these celebrations!

See the Wikipedia article on Japanese festivals for more information.

3. Tech robots, gadgets and all things.

They really should be all over the world! Very healthy, though it takes a while to get accustomed to water planes ...

5. Effective Transport and Shinkansen (Built Train).

Hanky Hankinson
JR Central's Hickory Shinkansen.

Riding on Japan's Bullet Train was actually one of the 10 reasons my colleagues went to Japan. Traveling at speeds of up to 300km / h, it feels more like air travel than a train.

The best, easiest and most effective way to experience the built-in train is to buy Japan Rail Pass. Before entering Japan you will need to buy a pass, find out more about JRP, find out the cost and buy one online.

At the opposite end of the scale, bicycles are the right path on the roads in Japan.

6. Japanese cuisine (especially Ebisu Beer)

Ebisu Beer and Takuki (octopus in blood balls).

Yibesu (clearly 'Eh-Bsu') is my favorite Japanese beer, there are many good quality beers in Japan, including no beers ... Take a look at the Japanese Beer Difference article for clarification.

7. Manga and mobile phones.

Shelf of books at a Japanese manga store
Just a small part of a multi-level bookstore in Okayama

8. Astro Boy

Outside the Kyoto train station is a Stato Boy statue (named Atom in Japan).

By the way, Fukuoka is a great place to visit in the south of Japan. It's not too far from Hiroshima.

10. Origami, Ancient Traditions and Art.

This post begins with a series of posts about travel to Japan. I went to Japan on vacation for about 1 month. Almost daily I went to a cafe on the internet and searched for something. Being in a non-English speaking country meant finding the internet was a daunting task. The purpose of my site 'Japan Travel Mate' is to provide information about what to do and when you are in Japan.
