This is the only star tower I can recognize. Hill Big Dipper. The Great Bear is named after my family dog, Ariana. For someone who loves nature so much, I know very little about it. My father always wanted to know every tree with its leaves and every bird with its songs. But somehow we never got around to it.
"I'm a city girl," I used to say whenever anyone lives in the countryside. "I think I'll go crazy."
Last year, something changed inside me. Every fiber of my being feels infinitely variable. Influenced by influence. I recently went on a stormy trip to London and I started to sweat in the minute I got off the plane. There were people everywhere, running around. An elderly man struck me with his suitcase without apologizing. It didn't hurt but it did make me feel invisible, like floating a tiny spot of dust in the universe.
But looking at Ursa Major, that sense of reality felt different. Freedom gave birth to my veins when I attached myself to the universe, whose vastness is completely unaware of my existence. Already I know what that term means. I don't believe our lives have any meaning unless we create them.
Right now my mission is to find out what works for me. As it turns out, nature is a place where I can think of a more precise and possibly even answer.
As a result, I was taken on a little shiny trip to Calder Forest. I can't claim any credit for organizing it - this was Peter who organized it for our second birthday. I spent months scouring a website called Canopy & Stars and found it somewhere to live my dream of living in a magical hut deep in the woods. I took this job on their own.
In case you were wondering, this is not a sponsored post. I've just really loved the website and since I discovered it during my last year of high school. But hey, if you work for them, drop me a line and I'll gladly become a cabin tester for you… #dream
Before I give you more details about this gleaming experience, I love it if you watch the video below. It's only four minutes long and I've put a lot of time and energy into making it. Let me show you the interior of our front cabin, the surrounding area and the quiet behind the scenes on our anniversary.
