For some, the process of moving from one place to another is an experience of pain, staring, and fear and panic. For others, like me, traveling, whether flying or riding in a car, it's just part of the experience and it's something that makes me very happy. But there is a form of transportation that seems to slow down as usual and in which most passengers are pulled. Train Whether it's a modern European high-speed train or an old-fashioned steam train in rural Maryland, this train has captured the imagination of people around the world, and I wonder why.

It's been a while - the rise of the train in the 19th century has spread to extraordinary levels, not only in the United States but around the world. Instead of traveling to the continent for months, it only took weeks and the experience was more enjoyable. When the famous Bridgeman car was introduced, the upper echelons of society could travel in the way they were accustomed to, and this is the serious age of travel that I think most of us are fascinated by. We are accustomed to loving like sheep in a stall in such a way that we want to enjoy the comforts of the creatures that have disappeared. True, you won't find white-glove food on TV outside of Paris, but you will find some privacy, peace and tranquility and culture. Much remains to be said. The train in question does not have to be fully operational. Refurbished steam locomotives travel around the world on pleasure rides to experience the old-fashioned sense of travel and see the world in a new light. I was on a similarly beautiful train ride a few weeks ago and the train was full, every seat was sold when hundreds of people made fun of riding on the remnants of the past. There is something about the experience that compels us.

Little effort, maximum enjoyment. - Train travel is not difficult, especially when compared to flight. To fly in modern times, passengers have to arrive hours early to be processed, planted, and waste precious time on someone's life. The actual flight experience itself is not so remarkable and you also have to deal with getting to and from the airport, which is usually out of the way. Compare this to a travel training train. You don't have to hurry, which just shuts down the platform. It's okay to arrive on time, a feeling that feels wrong for modern travelers. Boarding is fast and hopeful and the practical experience itself is great. You're lucky to get some good views on a plane, but on a train that you have. I have done nothing but look at this landscape as the train has run through the backfields and flower fields. Add to this the fact that train stations are necessarily well located, usually in the middle of the city and you have an experience that requires very little effort but more than fun. Comes back to higher levels.

It just works - everything, ease of use, pleasant travel, and memories of the days, add to the travel experience that just works. I know, I know here in the United States that we've had some problems with our passenger train system, and it's not easy if you live outside the Northeast Corridor. But in the counties where it is best implemented ie Europe, it is possible to get around by train to be more productive and to make the least effort. It is surprising to me that in the 21st century, amidst all the security precautions and the fear that we may still be able to enjoy a travel experience that is efficient and enjoyable. I can only hope that future travelers will continue to enjoy it. It stays that way.
